General Description
In order for your computer to work on the ResNet network, it must have DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) enabled. That is, the network will assign an IP address to you. This article tells how to enable DHCP.
Step by Step Instructions
- Open Network and Sharing Center through the Control Panel or by right-clicking Network and selecting Properties.
- Click View Status
- Click Properties
- Click Continue when Windows asks for your permission to continue.
- Highlight Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
- Ensure That Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically are selected.
- Click OK, and exit back to the Desktop.
